Eminem and Dr. Dre recently announced a collaborative agreement as they welcomed the talented Filipino-American rapper, Ez Mil, into their fold. The 24-year-old rising star has officially joined the ranks of Interscope, Aftermath, and Shady Records.
Wednesday, July 26, Eminem shared exciting news on his Instagram account. He revealed that he and Dr. Dre are joining forces once again, this time for the signing of Ez Mil.
Following his Instagram announcement, Eminem took to Twitter to validate the reason behind the rapper’s signing. He emphasized that the music video for Ez Mil’s track “Up Down (Step & Walk),” released earlier this year, was the catalyst for the decision. Eminem tweeted, “This is why we signed him,” along with a link to the impressive video.

On August 11, fans can anticipate the release of DU4LI7Y: REDUX, a deluxe version of Ez Mil’s 2022 album. The revamped edition will feature a special collaboration with Eminem on the track titled “Realest.”
Back in February, Ez Mil unveiled the music video for his single “Up Down” from the DU4LI7Y album. The song’s striking resemblance to Eminem’s style caught the attention of many fans, leading to increased popularity. Roughly a month later, Eminem himself discovered the song and, in response, Ez Mil made the journey from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to meet Dre and Eminem for the first time. This encounter marked a significant milestone in his career.
In an announcement posted on Shady Records‘ website, Eminem and Dre are excited to go to work with the Fil-Am rapper.
“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been,” commented Eminem. “And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together – but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special” so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”
Dr. Dre added, “I’m really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”
EZ Mil made waves in early 2021 when he performed his song “Panalo” on a radio station set in a bus. The inspiring performance captured the masses and trended online.
