Ely Buendia, the main man of the iconic Pinoy Rock band, Eraserheads, just casually spilled the beans on an epic documentary they’ve got brewing.
During his chat featured in an article over at Hiraya online mag, they couldn’t resist digging into the juicy rumor mill – Netflix Philippines might just be cooking up something special for the Eheads!
“There’s going to be a documentary on the Eheads and that’s all I can say for now,” Buendia said.
But when the question of dropping some fresh tracks for Eraserheads came up, Buendia gave two words, “Let’s see.”
The Pinoy Rock Icon, though, let slip that there’s a new tune that he released as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) called, “Flaming Lullaby.”
“I won’t pretend I have a clue what NFT’s are but it’s a nice change of pace for me, it’s like a whole new frontier that’s full of possibilities and you can be who you want to be,” Buendia said.
Together with his equally iconic bandmates, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Marcus Adoro, Buendia just wrapped up the Eraserheads’ North American Tour, hitting all the spots in the US and Canada.
Fans have been buzzing, wondering if there’s gonna be a rad documentary capturing the vibes of that epic tour, where these four legendary rock stars were spotted together, just kickin’ it as friends or, you know, jamming like old bandmates and having a blast.
If we can recall, back in 2021, during a podcast interview with “Wake Up with Jim & Saab”, Buendia mentioned how they were never friends in the bands, and that the reason why they broke up back in 2002.
While they were rockin’ their North American tour, all four members, plus Buendia’s co-managers Day Cabuhat and Diane Ventura, decided to share some good vibes on Instagram. Just like your typical crew of pals, they hit the shops, savored some good eats, checked out all the touristy stuff in every city they hit the stage, squeezed in a few detours, and even got into a killer concert by The Cure. The finale? Well, it went out with a bang in the Big Apple, no less!
It was almost a quarter-century ago when the icon foursome was in a documentary, and it happened right after the “Final Set”, the band’s second reunion concert after the 2008 heart-stopper, where the concert got an unexpected turn of events when Buendia experienced a heart-attack during the concert. The documentary was Jay Taruc’s “Banda ng Masa.”
Now, fans are crossing their fingers for the new Eraserheads documentary to hit the screens before the holiday starts.
