Remember Hilera? The band that gave us “Define”, “Pilit”, and “Sayang Panahon”? Well, their vocalist, Chris Padilla just released his solo EP and he’s hitting all the right strings.
For the Titos and Titas of rockabilly, Chris is a household name. But for the young ones who are just discovering his music along with the OPM rock genre, let us introduce him to you.
Chris Padilla is a singer and songwriter who gained widespread recognition as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Hilera. Born in the Padilla clan (yes, he’s related to Robin Padilla and Daniel Padilla), entertainment is not new to him, being surrounded by family who work in the industry.
Aside from his work with Hilera, Chris has also collaborated with other musicians in the Philippines including OPM legend Ely Buendia of the Eraserheads and Nitoy Adriano from The Jerks, forming the superband, The Oktaves in 2011.
After Hilera’s last single release in 2021 with “Saan”, Padilla now ventured into a solo career and continued to captivate his fans with his unique style and heartfelt lyrics. His ability to experiment with his sound and his singing attitude sets him apart in the industry and creates a distinctive musical taste that appeals to the audience.
Chris Padilla on his solo career today is a testament to his musical talent and creativity, as well as to his significant contributions to the Philippine music scene, particularly in the rock genre. His music continues to resonate with audiences across generations and inspires new musicians and fans.
